Welcome

We are an Afro percussion group that has been based in Glasgow for the last 7 years. We play the fantastic and diverse rhythms and songs of traditional West Africa and the West Indies. The music is played on "Djembe" and "Dundun" drums as well as a variety of other percussion instruments such as bells, shakers,... They produce a fascinating and colourful collage of rhythms originally played during celebrations (such as religious occasions, harvests or victories), work and initiation rites.

Our performances produce a rhythmic feast that is enjoyable for all.

We teach West-African drumming and dancing as they are highly related.

Our Aims:

  • To promote music in schools and the community through projects, classes and workshops.
  • To broaden musical and cultural awareness.
  • To introduce people to music which originates outside popular western formats.
  • To empower people to make their own music.
  • To provide a motivational experience, especially in relation to development of individual and group working skills.
  • To make every workshop a joyful and energising experience.
